Search & Recovery with tools
Welcome to the IDDA Search & Recovery Course!
The “Search & Recovery with Tools” diving course is designed to train divers in the skills of searching and recovering objects, items, and people underwater using various tools and techniques. This course is ideal for anyone looking to expand their diving skills and prepare for more challenging dives or rescue operations.
During the course, participants will first learn the basics of searching and recovering underwater. This includes planning and organizing search and recovery operations. Subsequently, various search patterns and techniques will be taught to effectively search for lost or submerged items.
As the course progresses, the focus shifts to the use of tools such as lines, lift bags, buoys, dive lights, underwater cameras, metal detectors, and cutting tools. Participants will learn how to properly select, handle, and maintain these tools. Special equipment for search and recovery operations also plays an important role.
Communication and collaboration with other divers in a search and recovery team will be improved as well, ensuring efficient and safe cooperation. The skills for orientation and navigation underwater will be refined to increase efficiency during search and recovery operations.
